Groundwater Resources Management and Integration of Taiwan

Absrtact
The integrative planning of groundwater quality and monitoring wells management are conducted in this project. Main tasks are groundwater quality evaluation and monitoring well maintenance, review of site-specific monitoring wells management program, implement of groundwater information integration, investigation of groundwater nitrogen cycling reaction, promotion of groundwater multidepartment seminar. The adjusted plan of well distribution and monitoring frequency is proposed. Groundwater quality potential distributions are established for groundwater resource conservation and management. Moreover, optimized management strategy of site-specific monitoring wells is assessed by the number and status confirmation, proposal of well maintenance and abandoned methods, revised regulation and supporting measures. Maintenance of monitoring wells are completed in this project, including abandoned and re-installation of 2 wells, foundation improvement of 6 wells, debris removal of 6 wells, planning report review of 45 wells. Monitoring information update status are continuously concerned. The soil and groundwater monitoring data of environmental impact assessment cases are also assessed for integrating to database. The geochemical reaction and cycling mechanism are evaluated by field investigation and modeling estimation. Also, environmental education, political seminars, international conference are held in this project as the experience for government future work.
